Our International Designer Workshop in 2006 was hosted by the brilliantly talented Per Benjamin - world class designer from Stockholm, Sweden. Per’s amazingly fresh and detailed work was an inspiration to all who attended (and assisted!). If you missed it, you certainly missed out!
We will be adding some pic's soon - just to show you what you missed, but more importantly to share and inspire you... and hopefully tempt you to come along another time!
Per certainly has an innate ability to use flowers, colours and space in a fantastic way - his passion for his work is infectious - his theoretical explantations just make perfect sense, but also make you think in a new light - stop and look at the materials, look at the colours... before you begin (and so different to what you are usually taught!).
The students all created some fantastic designs with the new knowledge, theories and techniques that they had learnt and put into practice! Per's designs were, as always meticulously finished, stylish and fun!
The workshop included tied bouquets and arrangements, together with a super variety of stunning bridal pieces, with a light, transparent and and very stylish feel.
Per has a book of his own - Elements and is a member of Life3 who have a new series of books out - the first two to be released are Creativity with flowers - Bouquets and Creativity with flowers - Interiors..... order your copies today... they are sure to be must haves! In these two titles, each designer (Per, Tomas de Bruyne & Max van de Sluis) present step by step guide to creating 7 beautiful designs. Life3 also have an wonderful wedding book - "Wedding Emotions" (another must for the bookshelf!). Per's work is included in the International Annual of Floral Art 05/06 and often featured in magazines worldwide - including the "signature collection" in the new Fusion Flowers Weddings.
