Welcome to The English School of Floristry. As part of “Thrive Floristry”, the school has been created from a combined passion of floral design and the ongoing desire to promote our own personal brand of floristry, both nationally and worldwide. The aim is to innovate and inspire students through a series of workshops – sharing the latest design concepts and interpretations of trends from around the world, whilst encouraging students to add their own individuality to their works. Group workshops are taken by Claire Cowling & cover a range of subject areas and abilities. We endeavor to keep the class numbers fairly small to ensure that everyone receives plenty of advice together with lots of personal attention – and therefore getting as much as possible out of the day.
Our style is quintessentially English, whilst taking some concepts and ideas from much further afield. A carefully chosen mix of the wonderful range of flowers and foliage available to us through the markets and our local surroundings, are complemented by tasteful sundries and accessories. The emphasis as with all our work, is firmly on exceptional, clean technique and stylish design, whether being an intricate bridal design or larger scale piece.
Our floristry school has a series of one day workshops throughout the year - some purely wedding work, others sympathy and some mixed seasonal days too!
We also host an International Designer Workshop, with our favourite international designers which have in the past included the brilliant Tor Gundersen of Norway, Per Benjamin from Sweden & Jouni Seppanen from Finland .. so keep a look out for our next one - they are a treat!
Private tuition - one to one or group tuition at our studio or your own premises, by Claire Cowling is also available – tailored specifically to your needs and requirements. Please ask for more information and costs.
