Well, we don’t just care about the bottom line. We care about our subject and try our hardest to promote fine floristry – by practising good floristry, writing about flowers and floristry, participating in competitions, sponsoring competitions, and actively encouraging others to enjoy flowers, regardless of whether it is a pastime or profession. We try to practice what we preach, and believe that our continual successes in both the competitive arena and through our own books, are confirmations of not only our skills and abilities, but also our ability to keep moving forward.
We carry a wide selection of floristry and flower related books – one of the most comprehensive around, as we all have different preferences, capabilities and desires – whether beginner, enthusiast or professional.
We like to think that our personal selection and service stands for a lot in a world with so many alternatives. We realise the more we learn, the more there actually is to learn and how very little we actually know and understand about anything and everything. Every decision prompts another set of questions to think about, and it seems important that we try to put across some of those things, as well as the infinite beauty of flowers, so that maybe together we can make a little bit of difference in order to leave the children of the world a better place. We try to tread carefully, try to avoid over-use of certain materials and totally avoid the use of controversial materials such as Japanese knotweed. It is a matter of principle. The well known quote springs to mind – “If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything”. Why not join us and make that point stronger?
