Well, we both have a passion for flowers and really enjoy being a part of the floral industry and generally we were just know as ourselves - Liz & Claire Cowling, however, I wanted to have a company name too which would emcompass all of what we do - the books, workshops, floral comissions and all, together. So the company Thrive floristry began... But the name - how did that come about?! Well, I wanted a name that was meaningful... a name that not only related to our business – in all its different facets, but one that is also relevant to our industry as a whole, and life in general. “Thrive” kept popping into my head – I liked it, so I checked its dictionary definition: thrive v 1. to make steady progress; to prosper, to do well. The name bounced around unannounced for a while, then I decided – yep that’s the one!! We talked it through and the rest, as they say, is history! The name unites and endorses our joint skills, interests and talents.. “To thrive” is quite simply what we want to achieve – from every angle – personally, and for our customers and the floristry industry as a whole too and even better it is of course kind of flower related!! We hope that you enjoy thrive, and what we’re about… |
